This summer Stoneworks sends three interns to serve in a variety of ways. Our first in the field is Anna Savelle (below, at far left).
Anna will serve for 6 weeks in Montenegro, helping the Roma ministry. Then she’ll travel to Estonia to join our other two interns serving children with disabilities at Sunbeam and then working at Camp Gideon.
Here are a few words from her:
My name is Anna Savelle, and I was born and raised near Athens, GA, home of the University of Georgia Bulldogs. The Lord blessed me with a wonderful family – parents who love God and walk according to His will, a sister and brother-in-law who care for the land and have great faith, and a brother whose heart loves to study and teach God’s Word.
I came to know Christ as my Lord and Savior in 1996 and my walk with Him was renewed in 2009 during my freshman year of college. Through the discipleship and spiritual mentorship of four precious friends and the UGA Wesley Foundation, the Lord captured my heart for prayer, encouragement, and intercession.
After graduation from the University of Georgia in 2012, the Lord joined me with the family of St. James UMC where I l began learning what it means to live in a fellowship of true believers. The last three years have brought spiritual growth and emotional healing, deep love for people who are searching for their identity, and an unquestionable call to serve the Lord in ministry.
My life took a radical turn in March 2014 when the Lord asked me to serve His beloved ones in Montenegro and Estonia and commit my life to His work. As He takes me overseas, then to seminary, then beyond, I am humbled and honored to follow Jesus wherever He leads me by the Holy Spirit.
Other fun tidbits you might enjoy – I am a farm girl and love cows and chickens, so much sothat I have degrees in Poultry Science and Dairy Science. Cooking and baking for other people gives me great joy and satisfaction, and I often buy cookbooks just to read and get new ideas.
If I could choose my favorite room in a house, it would be a library with a fireplace and window seat where I could pass many an hour learning and studying. When music plays, I cannot help but dance and sing. Being in nature is my greatest method of stress relief and avenue of intimacy with the Lord. Most of all, I love to love, learn, and laugh.
