lauraWe introduce the newest Stoneworks ‘living stone’, Laura Rechkemmer. She’ll be working in administration, communications and finance. She speaks Russian, has a lot of experience (having lived in Ukraine for about 7 years) and a great heart to serve.

Laura met with the Stoneworks board, and we all see clearly that the Lord is bringing her to join Stoneworks. It’s a blessing for us and for her.

Her favorite scripture passage is Lamentations 3:21-23 — “Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Greetings to all of you,

My name is Laura Rechkemmer. Recently, I have agreed to partner in ministry with Stoneworks International. I am really excited, but mostly grateful that God has given me this opportunity to serve alongside you in ministry.

I grew up on a farm in Iowa and worked in Business Management after studying at the university. In 2006, I made my first trip to Romania as part of a mission team with my church. The following year, I visited my Dad in Ukraine as he had a farming business there for many years. During that visit, I went to an orphanage and was certain that God had called me to the mission field.

I lived and worked in Ukraine for several years and then returned to study Russian. I returned to live in Ukraine for an additional four years and worked with an organization as their Communications and Finance Director. Our organization grew very quickly as we served orphans in seventeen different government orphanages and also had a summer camp for over one thousand children each summer.

God has given me a heart for His children and those that are broken. I believe He has called me to use my skills to help others effectively minister to orphans, children, and hurting people in their countries.

I am passionate about using my skills to help others effectively minister to orphans and children in their country. I have a passion for justice.

I look forward to getting to know the Stoneworks family and to partner with each of you. I am ready to help and be part of what God is doing.

A little about me personally, I have six nephews and three nieces. I am thankful to have an active role in their lives. I like watching sports and spending time with friends.
