I recently met with the leadership of Sunbeam, a center for children with disabilities in Johvi, Estonia. Above are Liana Pold, Andres Toome, Sirli Tammiste, Artur Pold and myself. Artur is the chairman of the board, Sirli is the Director, and Liana manages the program which provides in-home care for over a hundred families in the region. Andres and I are board members.

Sunbeam is expanding once again. To date, our day program has been based on the first floor, and now we’re renovating a large area on the second floor. We will provide short-term overnight stays for children and their parents. Often, families need short-term help, an overnight stay when special circumstances arise. This is a service promised by the federal government, and Sunbeam will provide those services in our region. We’ll create/renovate several rooms, bathrooms and kitchens in addition to installing an elevator.

The team at Sunbeam is like a family, the facility peaceful and clean. It’s a joy to be associated with such an organization.
